New phone... Samsung Epic

Sometimes it is good to lose your phone I guess...
Got this because it is basically a revved up version of the Samsung Moment that I left in Brisbane, which is being held hostage by the Medina Hotel...

Was cheap too... I had some kind of 'loyalty credit' or something.

It is SO MUCH faster than the old one, internal process wise and net connection wise. Good times!

  1. Just be sure you have a charger with you everywhere you go. I love mine more than any other phone I've had, but the battery life is horrible.

  2. Yeah... I walked out of the store with a spare battery, anticipating this... But it is indeed worse than I even thought.

I am going to have to buy a separate charger-unit and probably -another- battery to keep this going... also one for the car.

I saw that this is such a common thing that they make a behemoth 5000mah battery for the Epic that is so big that it comes with a custom backplate! Might have to look into that...

Putting that aside, if that is possible...
This machine is great. Actually possible to get things done pretty fast. The way that they designed the interface for the OS on the Epic is pretty good... I had planned on rooting it right away, but I am happy for the time being.

  3. I just so happen to run a big Sprint store in Knoxville TN. (ayeyayay) I have some spare behemoth batteries and the backup charger. They were from my Epic demo, are brand new, and I don't need them anymore if you want 'em! Email me your POBox or Addy and I'll ship them next week. It's jatrotter@gmail.com.

  4. BOO BRISBANE. That is my home town - I can't believe they have your phone still. No fair. I still have a goddamn Nokia E71 and it's a pretty lame phone - don't go there.
